November 2025 to PresentLogan covers Idaho state government and politics for Idaho Reports as a producer and reporter, alongside documentary work for the station. He filmed, interviewed, researched and wrote for December 2025 episodes of Idaho Public Television's history series Idaho Experience.
Associate Producer — Idaho Public Television
May 2021 to November 2025Logan was hired full-time at Idaho Public Television as an associate producer in 2021. He produced interviews and wrote scripts for weekly episodes of the station's public policy and legislative affairs program Idaho Reports, handling reporting, packages, booking, scriptwriting, graphics, audio and digital. He occasionally filled in as host of the show, and managed the show's blog, podcast and social media channels.

Production Assistant — Idaho Public Television
March 2020 to May 2021Daily COVID-19 Updates (watch · listen): Idaho Reports produced daily and weekly COVID-19 updates which aired before and after PBS NewsHour on Idaho Public Television. Logan was part of a rotating team that wrote, voiced and edited the updates each week. The one to two minute segments included up-to-date data from Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and additional news on the pandemic.
Idaho Reports Podcast (listen): Prior to Logan joining the staff, Idaho Reports used an audio hosting site to embed interviews in blog posts and to post an occasional episode of the show. Logan took advantage of the site's existing RSS capability to set up an Idaho Reports podcast which appears on all major podcast platforms.
After shifting to more consistent distribution and the addition of original podcast episodes, the show's listenership exploded from under 300 plays per year to just over 18,000 plays in 2020 and more than 44,000 plays in 2021.

Student Intern — Idaho Public Television
January 2020 to March 2020Logan started with Idaho Public Television as a University of Idaho intern covering the 2020 legislative session in Boise. After the session adjourned in March, he stayed with the station as a production assistant to continue covering the COVID-19 pandemic's impacts on the state of Idaho.

2016–2020Logan graduated from the University of Idaho School of Journalism and Mass Media in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting and Digital Media. In the journalism program he studied media history, ethics and law. He also gained valuable hands-on production experience for film, television and independent media at Idaho Public Television's KUID studio.
McClure Center for Public Policy Research — Idaho Public Radio
Spring 2020In his final semester, Logan covered the 2020 state legislative session as an intern for Idaho Public Radio at the university's McClure Center for Public Policy Research in Boise. He interned concurrently with Idaho Public Television as a production assistant for Idaho Reports.
Alongside veteran capitol reporters, Logan wrote regular stories for rural newspapers across Idaho. His work at the statehouse was published in the Bonner County Daily Bee, the Coeur d'Alene Press, the Idaho County Free Press, the Owyhee Avalanche, the Power County Press and the Aberdeen Times, and published online by Idaho Public Radio.

University of Idaho — The Argonaut & BLOT Magazine
2018–2020As a student media staff member, Logan proofread and copyedited pages on production nights for The Argonaut newspaper. He also produced occasional video features for the paper and promotional segments for pieces in Blot magazine. See his Argonaut author archive and the UI Student Media video playlist.
Sandpoint High School — The Cedar Post
2015–2016Logan got his first taste of journalism when he was recruited as a high school senior to be the Multimedia Editor for the Cedar Post, Sandpoint High School's student newspaper. He edited the daily video announcements that were played in class, oversaw the paper's video team, and worked on print and multimedia stories. His Cedar Post staff archive remains online.
